Madonna; The Girl Gone Wild’s released

‘Gimme Your Lovin’, Madonna’s latest offer and leading track for her album ‘MDNA’, didn’t exaclty put the charts on fire. Perhaps the pre-order and getting the first single for free was not particularly a clever move by the company so time for Madge to put all works in the promo for her new single ‘Girl Gone Wild’. And by the looks at the cover and the snippet released a few weeks ago, we’re in for a treat because Madge is looking at her best and definately gives the impression she’s a very wild girl.

This time, Madge is collaborating with producer Benni Benassi, who’s instantly recognizable with his sound as e.g. Martin Solveig. ‘Girl Gone Wild’ reminds a little of the ‘Confessions on A Dancefloor’ area and even though it’s a clever dance track, which the Madonna fans will absolutely love, it doesn’t quite feel as brilliant as we’re used to by Madonna. The vocals, which we felt in ‘Gimme Your Lovin’ were quirky and passionate, are not really brought out in this track. But again it’s Madge and we will completely love it in a few weeks time.

‘MDNA’ the new Madonna album can now be pre-ordered on iTunes and is released March 26th.

LMFAO apologize for Party Rocking

Dance duo LMFAO, who had the honours to perform with her majesty Madonna during the Superbowl have revealed the latest cut from their album ‘Sorry For Party Rocking’ and guess what yes they’ve gone for the titletrack.

Accompanied with a 7 minute long video, the guys are taking it one step further, annoying the hell out of their neighbour who calls the police because they are partying again.

While we thought LMFAO were really cool when they released ‘Let the Bass Kick In Miami Girl’, ‘Party Rock Anthem’ and even ‘Champagne Shower’ with Natalia Kills, their latest cut is not exceeding expectations and turns them into a novelty act, rather than the fresh dance act they were when they started.

”Sorry for Party Rocking” is available for download via iTunes now.

Melodifestivalen’s last semi heat in Malmo: what to expect!

We’re heading to Malmo, Sweden for the last heat, with again 8 acts trying to win two tickets directly to the final in Stockholm in two weeks time. Usually heat 4 in Melodifestivalen is the strongest and has produced the main winner of the contest on several occassions. And this week it looks like it will be a battle with a former Eurovision winner returning for the 3rd time and the ”big favourite to beat”. Will they both succeed or will it be Andra Chansen or not qualifying at all. Very exciting stuff. Meet the participants below!

1. Charlotte Perrelli – “The Girl” (ESC 99 winner, ESC’08)

2. OPA! – “Allting blir bra igen”

3. Dynazty – “Land of Broken Dreams”

4. Lotta Engberg och Christer Sjögren – “Don’t Let Me Down”

5. Hanna Lindblad – “Goosebumps” (MF ’10)

6. Axel Algmark – “Kyss mig”

7. Lisa Miskovsky – “Why Start A Fire”

8. Danny Saucedo – “Amazing” (Runner up MF ’11)

Our lovely hosts Sarah Dawn Finer and Ana Gina are being reunited with Helena Bergström and we once again can’t wait to see what to expect from the intro. We have  in fact started rooting for Sarah Dawn Finer and Ana gina to join forces and come back as a duo to Melodifestivalen 2013.

Anyhow back to our artists. As usual we always give you a glimpse of one of the artists that’s in this heat and so far our predictions have not exactly been great with The Monniker not qualifying and Timoteij & Andreas Johnson both going to Andra Chansen but as we have a 2-time Eurovision participant, of which the first one she won, we had to mention Charlotte Perrelli a bit more.

She’s been arround now for quite a few years and rose to fame in Europe after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem 1999 with ‘Take me To Your Heaven’. Initially stating never to do Melodifestivalen again, she did however return to the TV show in 2008 and won again the right to represent Sweden at the contest in Belgrade, Serbia. Despite being tipped as the one to beat ‘Hero’ only qualified with the help of the juries and only finished 18th in the grand final. And we’re not surprised ”Hero” was unfortunately nothing more but a atypical Schlager which easily would have won the contest in the nineties but sounded outdated that year. Even though it would make more sense to show the video of her winning song in Eurovision, we have decided to put up the video of her Eurovision performance in 2008, introduced by Terry Wogan.

Enjoy!

Thank God It’s Friday: Sporty time!

hey hey everybody. Hope you all had a great week and are ready for the weekend! We’ll take you back to the summer of 2000 with our track. Back in 1996, 5 girls conquered the world with their big characters, massive shoes and brilliant pop music: The Spice Girls.

After their world domination things turned a bit quiet for them in 1999, when they announced they would no longer perform as a group for a while to focuss on their own solo-projects. And it was Sporty Spice who took the lead in her solo career and is the only Spicey to date who is still current in the music industry, having released 5 albums through her own independant label.

Her biggest hit in Europe was back in 2000 with the dance anthem ‘I turn To You’ which reached number 1 in many European countries. Perfect for a night out, or even for the gym.

Since 2000 Melanie released 4 more albums and is currently promoting her latest album ‘The Sea’ in Europe and the United Kingdom.

ESC 2012 – Those Who Didn’t Make It: Ornella de Santis – Quietly

Another chapter in our ‘Those Who Didn’t Make It’ Eurovision series. And we’re off to Germany, the host country of last years contest. After the victory brought by Lena Meyer Landrut, ProSieben, ARD & NDR decided to follow the same route of the system used in 2010 for their Baku representative.

Over the past two months, ”Unser Star Fur Baku” saw in true X Factor/Idol style 10 candidates performing and voted off all the way until last week’s  final 2 performers,Roman and Italian German Ornella de Santis, battling it out for the Baku ticket.

Both had been offered three songs which they performed the show. The audience and viewers at home chose for each act the song they thought would be most suitable at Eurovision; Roman ended up with ‘Standing Still’ and Ornella de Santis with ”Quietly”.

As the title suspects, Roman was the man who won the competition and will be defending Germany at this years Eurovision. It’s a shame for Ornella because her song is truly beautiful. It sounds a bit like a little lullaby, possibly because Ornella’s vocals are so fragile. The lyrics are also very genuine and real.

Hope you enjoy it!

Rihanna reveals the full version of Birthday Cake

it’s probably the most anticipated track of the singers latest album ‘Talk That Talk’. For her 24th birthday the superstar herself has now revealed the full version of the track ‘Birthday Cake’ with a rather odd choice of guest helping her out: Chris Brown.

The pair dated quite some time, until he was charged with sexual assualt against Rihanna now a few years ago. It’s quite difficult in a situation in which one of the parties has been sexually assaulted to comment on a new collaboration, so we have decided not to state any personal views on their decision and focuss on the music instead.

In all honesty, ‘Birthday Cake’ has never been one of our favourites, so we’re not completely overwhelmed by it. it’s a pretty standard House pop club track but we can see the full potential of it in its full length. It will probably after a few listens be catchy enough to succeed in its goal. The good side of it, is that it shows how Rihanna could well go the ‘Rowland’ and ‘Lewis’ way, and turn into a right Club Queen, something which her fans arround the world surely wouldn’t mind.

Rihanna is returning the favour by appearing on the Remix of Brown’s latest cut ‘Turn Up The Music’. Since their collaborations have leaked, both have been linked to being an item again, much to the dissatisfaction of many fans.

Enjoy.
