Alistair Griffin releases new album ahead of F1 Single

Does the name of singer songwriter Alistair Griffin sound familiar? The Middlesbrough-born has had its fair share in the music industry already with appearances in a new line up of late ’9os pop act Ultra and as part of Pulse, writing songs for the likes of Phixx and Cascada but mainly for being the runner up position in the second series of BBC talent show Fame Academy where he gained the support of Bee Gee band member Robin Gibbs. With a number five hit single already under his belt in 2004 and unexpected world-wide attention with the track ”Just Drive”, which was used over footage of the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix and since made the official track for F1 this year, the singer is back with a full album called ‘Albion Sky’.

The album will be released on July 2nd, with the single ‘Just Drive’ out on July 16. “’Just Drive’ represents a brand new start for me” says the York based singer-songwriter. “It’s about the freedom of the road, pushing yourself to the limit and, personally, it was a revelation of what I could do.” Prior to its release in Britain on July 16th Alistair will be performing ‘Just Drive’ at the British Grand Prix on July 7th and 8th. Alistair is also performing at Hard Rock Calling on July 14th and Guilfest on July 15th.

Griffin’s been working with award winning producer and former Psychedelic Fur, Ed Buller who’s best known for Best known for his work with Suede, Pulp, White Lies and The Courteeners.

Judging on the video of ‘Just Drive’, ‘Albion Sky’ will be full of amazing heartfelt well-crafted songs. His career story has been incredible so far, and we really wish it’s only going to go better for him.

Single ‘Just Drive’ is out on July 16, preceded by the album ‘Albion Sky’ on July 2nd.
