With the Black Eyed Peas on hiatus, it’s a good time for Fergie, to appear with a brand new project. The singer revealed her new uptempo song ‘Feel Alive’ today in which she teams up with Pitbull and Dj Poet.
The track, which will feature on the soundtrack for forthcoming dance film Step Up Revolution, is the first new track since her solo efforts in 2006-2007. The singer back then released her very own solo album ‘The Duchess’ featuring ‘Glamorous’ and ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’.
Since her solo effort, the all round entertainer has been acting in several films, including the musical ‘Nine’ and returned to the stage with the Black Eyed Peas in 2008 for the album ‘The E.N.D’ and ‘The Beginning’ (2010).
The new track is definitely a style change for the singer and reminds a lot more to her ‘Black Eyed Peas’ past then her own unique sound on her solo effort. Bit of a shame, as the latter is what made her stand out.But hope’s not lost, as the track is only part of the The Step Up Revolution soundtrack alongside songs by Jennifer Lopez, MIA, Ne-Yo, Justin Bieber and Eva Simons, nothing leads in the direction of Fergie releasing an album which is full with these dance generic tracks.
The official soundtrack will be available to download from July 20, while the film will be in US cinemas from July 27 and in the UK on August 10.
