I play hard, but if you calm me down, I can be gentle.” that’s how New York based Anna Rose introduces herself to new audiences or press. Not surprisingly based on her name you wouldn’t expect this sweet girl to be a brilliant leading female guitarist.
The singer, who’s best known for her debut album ‘Nomad’ and her version of Arcade’s Fire ‘My Body’s a Cage’ has now unveiled the video for her new track ‘Behold A Pale Horse’, which is the lead single for a new album, with the same title, following later in the year. The CD title, and title track, Behold a Pale Horse is in fact a phrase from the Book of Revelations, and is a representation of death. ” The album is about the concept of death and what that really means to each of us individually based on our histories”. Though the idea of death in general, provided a focus for the album, the title track, “Behold a Pale Horse,” is actually more about one’s legacy.
The smokey blues & rock vocals of Anna Rose are absolutely stunning on this Soft-Rock track. What a voice! Speaking of the theme legacy, Anna Rose is definitely showing she will be providing a massive legacy.
Anna Rose teamed up with Jennifer Tzar, who directed the breathtaking video, which was filmed in Snowdonia, Wales in April of 2012. They decided to shoot in Snowdonia because of the unique mix of ruins, epic natural landscapes, and strong sense of history, which Anna felt very connected to. The result is amazing!
