With 1 day to go before the Olympic Games officially kick off in London, the songs which will be used during the official events are being unveiled. The Chemical Brothers are the latest group in line to unveil their newly produced track ‘Velodrome’ as one of the five official London 2012 event tracks.
The new recorded track will be served as the official soundtrack to any of the Olympics Track Cycling events in the velodrome in the upcoming weeks.
The band are said to have been inspired by Kraftwerk, the German influential 7oies electronic music project, who released a new track this year for the Tour de France. The Chemical Brothers are said to be ‘honoured to create the theme for the Velodrome and we’re really excited to hear it in situ’ (source Digitalspy.co.uk)
The track is available for pre-order and will be released on July 30.
The Chemical Brothers are the latest group to join the line up of Muse, Elton John vs Pnau, Dizzee Rascal & Delphic as official London 2012 theme tracks.
