Kicking of our brand new ‘Track of the Day’ chapter: ”Out at Sea” by Tom Dice

Track of the Day is a brand new chapter on GloPopmusic where we pay particular attention to one artist and a song which is stuck in our head, and makes us press the replay button over and over and over again. Add some facts about the artist and bang… a new chapter is born. Different artist and track every day.

Kicking off as the first is Belgian singer songwriter Tom Dice and his song ‘Out At Sea’. With his distinctive voice, Tom’s ‘Out at Sea’ is a highlight on his second album ‘Heart For Sale’ and one of those tunes which does not leave your head.

Facts: Tom Dice (born Tom Eeckhout in Eeklo, Belgium on 25 November 1989) is a Belgian singer-songwriter, who finished second in the Flemish version of The X Factor in 2008 and represented Belgium in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest where he became 6th with 143 points (Germany won with 246 points). Since he’s released two albums; ‘Teardrops’ (2010) and ‘Heart For Sale’ (2012). Dice has since his appearance at Eurovision been a regular music guest in several Central European countries ( amongst them Germany and France) doing rather well in the charts.

Biggest Hits: ‘Me & My Guitar’ (2010), ‘Il Nous Faut’ ft Elisa Tovati (2011)

Is out on Itunes? Yes and on Spotify, in fact both Dice’s albums are available for purchase.

Upcoming new material? He certainly has. ‘Drive me to Paris’ has been announced as the next single. We did a review for it just over a week ago. Look in our archive for that.

Agnes releases ‘All I Want Is You’ ahead of new album

Swedish pop princess Agnes, which we all know from her monster hit ‘Release Me’ in 2008, is about to release her fourth album ‘Veritas’ in home country Sweden in the upcoming week. So another good reason to release new track ‘All I Want Is You’.

‘All I Want Is You’ is yet another example of how much Agnes has matured in her music. If anyone wondered whether the girl wasn’t talented enough to stand the test of time, has definitely missed her lead single ‘One Last Time’, which was simply out of this world. ‘All I Want Is You’ is a much more radio friendly pop song than its predecessor but once again it shows the maturity in Agnes work.

With her new album ‘Veritas’ out in Sweden pretty soon, Agnes is about to reclaim her crown at the top in Sweden. Both tracks, and the previews of the album, showcase one thing: With that mature sound, Agnes is most definitely ready to conquer the world pretty soon!

‘All I Want is You’ is out now in Sweden.

Want a taste of Alexandra Stan’s Lemonade?

Alexandra Stan scored a massive hit in the summer of 2011 with her addictive hit ‘Mr Saxobeat’, bombarding her to be the second biggest Romanian music export product, besides Inna. Even though its follow up single ‘Get Back ASAP ‘ failed to make the charts here in the UK, Alexandra is enjoying success globally and she’s hoping to reinforce that with the release of brand new track ‘Lemonade’. Sticking to what she’s good at, Alexandra comes up with yet another highly addictive pop track which flirts with some dub step and a rather mid tempo summer rythm. The clip continues to build upon the storyline which we’ve seen the past few weeks.

While the actual EP, with all its remixes, will only be available to download here in the UK from October 7, the cahill radio edit remix can already be downloaded.

Gotye’s ready for the next chapter; ‘I Feel Better’ next UK single

2012 is without a doubt the year of Australian Gotye. His collaboration with Kimbra, ‘Somebody that I Used To Know’ has practically reigned the charts worldwide and while the track is slowly starting to loose its grip, the Belgian born/Aussie raised producer is ready to give it another good go with the uplifting track ‘I Feel Better’.

If you thought, Gotye would stick to the melancholic, lullaby sound of ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ think again. Pulling out all the stops on the motown inspired track ‘I Feel Better’. It’s uplifting, it’s positive and will put a massive smile on your face.

‘I Feel Better’ is released in the UK on September 3.

Calvin Harris & Florence + The Machine …Part 2; ‘Sweet Nothing’

In all honesty, when we heard there was to be a brand new collaboration between Calvin Harris and Florence + the Machine we were quite intrigued to find out what the result would sound like, keeping in mind that Harris did a pretty good job remixing the already outstanding single ‘Spectrum’….

Returning the favour now, Florence Welch takes the vocals for her account on Harris new track ‘Sweet Nothing’ which will also appear on his new album ’18 months’. It’s the fifth track lifted from the album, and for those hoping this is anywhere near ‘Spectrum’ we’re sorry to be so negative but we really have to warn you it doesn’t come close.

Yet, Harris has proven over the past year to have found a success formula for dance productions combined with the vocals of some of the greater names in the music industry. ”Sweet Nothing” does sound very similar to big brother ‘We Found Love’ and with the brilliant vocals of Florence + The Machine, this track will surely be one of the most popular ones in the radio charts in the coming months.

‘Sweet Nothing’ is released on October 14.
