We Were Evergreen is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. listen to ‘Leeway’

evergreenWe knew there was something instantly special about the following threesome, even though we only heard 10 seconds of We Were Evergreen’s new single ‘Leeway’.

They’re fantastically witty, bring vibrant and positive melodies and they literally could brighten up any snowwy and heavy rain day here in the UK with their tracks. Yes they’re that bloody good.

So who are they exaclty? Michael Liot, Fabienne Debarre and William Serfass founded We Were Evergreen in their native France back in 2008 and decided to fuse a bit of English folk, disco beats, electronic-pop, and the storytelling traditions of their native France and give us some extraordinary songwriting skills and heavenly tunes. More of this please!

We should say it more often, but Vive La France!!!

Our ‘one To Watch’ this week are Southwest Londoners fiN… check them out here

Every so often, we are being send tracks by artists which really grab us by the throat and leave us gasping for air, that’s how impressed we are by them. This week particularly we’ve been grabbed so immensely we’re not sure something we’ll ever experience anything like these boys from the Southwest of London again.

They call themselves FiN but in real life these four young men are Jonny Garner, Simon Harding, Kerry Lambert and front man Luke Joyce, former school mates who started off as a grunge cover band but really showed their potential by writing and producing their own material since 2009. Their inspiration? Their childhood roots in Motown, The Beatles, Led Zep and Nirvana and channelling their creative forces for the reinvention of alt.rock.

The result? Melodic and beautiful vocal melodies that show you the indie music in a different daylight. FiN stand for mindblowing, and refine music to the ears. Have a listen to their track ‘The Artisan’ below and you’ll immediately understand why we chose them as our ‘One to Watch’ this week:
