While Australian pop punkers trio, Short Stack announced their split only a few months ago ex front man Shaun Diviney has been a pretty busy little bee, putting all his energy into creating music for his very own solo project. This mysterious solo project has now been unveiled with the very first single ‘You’re So Cool’ receiving its first airplay on Australian radio two days ago.
It’s much less punk and much more radio friendly pop music this new ‘Diviney’ track (Shaun’s new artist name) which sees a combination of rock a la White Stripes being fused with the beat boxing vibe of Justin Timberlake’s ‘Like I Love You’ . It’s anything unheard of on the radio currently, making it a refreshing and a strong debut for the young Aussie.
The video of ‘You’re So Cool’, premiered a little later after the first radio play is rather simplistic with the singer wearing a black jacket, white shirt and dark skinny leg jeans standing in front of a wall displaying messages. Simple but effective! The creative brain behind the video is Jack Toohey.
No news yet on an official release for the track, but let’s cross our fingers Diviney’s management have thought about a worldwide release.
