Solange, the little sister of Beyonce is still very much active in the music industry, but is yet to get to the big break point in her career. Most of us remember her for her ‘I decided’ track, but would you believe the young lady has in fact released two full studio albums? We were surprised! Bit of a shame she’s been criminally overlooked, as Solange shows in her latest offering ‘Losing You’, how up to date she is by knowing exaclty what the charts need; something current and refreshing! (A natural ability all of the Knowles seem to master).
‘Losing You’ is a mid tempo track, which really reminds of the late 8oies/9oies music productions. It’s awesomely laid back and Solange kind of catapults you back to the time where Madonna would sing her heart out on classics like ‘Like A Prayer’. In fact at some points during Losing You, it almost feels like we are listening to Madonna. What a tune, Solange! What a tune!
‘Losing You’ is already out and can be bought now. It’s the first single from Solange’s yet to be named 2013 scheduled album.
As you already known, Beyoncé has been very much involved in the ‘I Was Here’ project for the WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY tomorrow, August 19. . As a big thank you for everybody who has shown their support, the singer has donated a bunch of remixes from ‘I Was Here’ as a free download with the following message.
“As a special thank you to all who’ve supported World Humanitarian Day, we wanted you to have a few remixes we hope you will use to celebrate the biggest social media movement in history. ”
Don’t forget to visit http//:www.whd-iwashere.org to pledge your social media support.
The new remixes have been produced by RedTop, StrictLovee, J-C and WaWa. The latter also did the official remixes for Beyoncé’s single ‘End of Time’. The tracks can be found here.
Carly Rae Jepsen is currently holding on to her UK number 1, fighting off Conor Maynard, but with a load of new tracks being out this week, will the Canadian superstar survive at the top for another week. We compiled a list of five songs which we think have potential to do very well in the coming weeks or months.
Queen B returns with a huge banger from her latest album ’4′. The singer, who yesterday was announced most beautiful woman in the world, returns to the music scene with a massive club tune ”End of Time”. The introduction has a military feel to it with the drums, and is 3 minutes of pure Beyonce entertainment. must-buy!
Little Boots, mainly known for her smash hit ‘New in Town’, is back with a new project ‘Every Day I Say A Prayer’ hoping to set the charts back on fire. It’s the first of a new album, which hopefully sees the daylight later in the year. Little Boots has gone trance, mixed and mixed it with a poppy chorus. Not a bad attempt, and should gain her respectable airplay on the radio. Whether it will reach the same positions as ‘New in Town’, we’re not fully sure. Perhaps a few listens will convince us.
Next up are Foster The People. The American indie band have enjoyed considerable success since last year and are now releasing the new single ”Don’t Stop”. As with its predecessors it has the bands sound written all over it, though it isn’t as catchy as ”Call It What You Want”. A few listens is necessary, production wise is sublime. Definately a song you don’t want to miss out on.
Ren Harvieu, was included in Digitalspy’s one to watch chapters early this year, and again we totally get why they included this talented young lady from Broughton, England. The symphonic harmonies combined with pop elements, see the release of ”Open Up Your Arms”, the debut single of this talented young lady. It’s the lead track for her debut album ”Through The Night” which follows May 7. Breathtaking!
He’s the man of the moment, with new tracks produced for Cheryl, Scissor Sisters, Rihanna but Calvin Harris has found the time to release his latest single, featuring American R&B singer Ne-Yo. ‘Lets Go’ is currently already the midweek number 1 in the UK, and seems to be forming a real threat to Carly Rae Jepsen’s offering. As for the track it sounds very similar to ‘We Found Love’, which was a huge hit globally. Good on the Harris!
It’s been another busy day in the world of pop music. A quick overview of the latest events.
Nicki Minaj has returned to Twitter. The singer had left the application after one of her fans kept leaking material from her latest album. The singer decided to get back on twitter, as her fans were missing her. The singer has also been teasing the video for ‘Starships’ by saying it might be too saucy for tv. Does that mean Nicki, there won’t be a video after all? To add up to the confusion the singer recently released a video for her catchy track ‘Beez in the Trap’ although it’s not confirmed whether its serviced as the next single from Pink Friday:Roman Reloaded.
Beyonce has been named the ‘most beautiful woman’ by the readers of People’s Magazine. The star’s beaten Sofia Vergara, Charlize Theron, Michelle William and royalty Duchess Kate Middleton in the. The singer responded with the following statement ””I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.” The singer released earlier this week ”End of Time” as the latest single from her debut album ”4”.
”Call My Name” singer Cheryl (yes that Cheryl) has spend the morning at BBC Radio 1 to do some promo for her latest single, which was produced by Calvin Harris. The track was originally presented to new kid on the block Rita Ora, but was refused by the team. Cheryl teased a reunion with Girls Aloud, as it’s been three years since they were together and also teased throughout the day a short 30 sec clip of her video.
Alexandra Burke on the other hand has officially unveilled the video for her video ‘Let it Go’ which sees the singer partying on the London Underground. Partying is also what the Wanted are doing in the video for their Example-written new single ‘Chasing The Sun’. The video was filmed in Los Angeles and can also be found on our blog.
More X Factor participant news as Paije Richardson is the latest X Factor contestant to preview his first attempt to win over the British public. The 2010 X factor participant, who lost out on Cher Lloyd, has been raising money to record his first album via fan contributions on the Pledge Music website. The first single to be released is ”Bang Bang” and it’s absolutely amazing. (Learn and Watch Marcus!). Listen to the track below. Last week Aiden Grimshaw, fellow X Factor contestant also released his first single ‘Is This Love’.
Since Monday Steps are back with their Sky documentary which sees them prepare for their tour. Expect lots of Lisa crying (so we’ve been told). From what reunion to the other. The Beach boys are back with a new song called ‘Thats Why God Made the Radio’ it’s the lead for the band’s new album which is out in June. The band are currently touring arround the US which sees them play 37 dates.
And last but not least, Usher has teased his fans with the successor of his hit ”Climax”. The snippet below belongs to the next single ”Scream” which is also from the singers 7th album ”Looking for myself” out on June 11th. The singer will release the full version tomorrow in the United States. David Guetta also confirmed today to have collaborated once again with the singer, and teased the tune is absolutely crazy.
She became a mum a few months ago, but declared quite soon after the birth of Blu Ivy, she’s already working on two project in 2012. No Mummy holiday for Beyoncé it seems. But we don’t mind at all.
The queen of R&B, is finally releasing ‘End of Time’ as the 5th cut from her album ’4′ in the UK later this month. The song, which was written by the lady herself alongside Dave & Shea Taylor and Terius Nash and produced by Dj du jour Diplo has been a fan favourite since it leaked May last year, and then appeared on the stars latest album. The song already managed to climb to number 58 in the UK Singles chart and number 17 in the US Bilboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles.
It’s a fine piece of pure Beyoncé magic. The intro, a marching band-style of drums, builds up amazingly, before the strong diva vocals of Beyoncé kick in on an amazing beat. ”Come Take My Hand, I won’t Let You Go…” And that’s the start of your four minutes of a pure dance floor filler! Clever choice of Beyoncé to use ‘End of Time’ as her return to the music industry, after the moderate few singles she released from ”4” (apart from ”Love On Top” that is).
As for the video, news on a new official video has not been known so far, but as the Vevo Channel of the singer gives us a mix of live performances as the video, we’d thought we’d stick to that one. The video shows again what an all round entertainer Queen B is. Few artists have such energy on stage as this one does. As we said… Queen B ‘t ill the ‘End of Time”
Enjoy the video!
”End of Time” will see it’s official single release on April, 22.
let’s start our news down under where Kylie Minogue has confirmed she’ll be performing at this years Mardi Gras in Sydney. . Kylie’s performed at the event 14 years ago and is thrilled to take the stage again. The singer kicked off celebrations for her 25th anniversary in the music industry this week. While Kylie’s celebrating her career, Belgian/Aussie Gotye has been crowned the number 1 in the ‘Triple J hot 100′ with ‘Somebody that I used to Know’ ft New Zealand songstress Kimbra. While ‘Somebody that I used to know’ is gaining radio play in the UK, Europe is ready for ‘Eyes Wide Open’. Both songs are tracks on the latters latest album ‘Making Mirrors’.
Mel B has reportedly announced, during an Australian Breakfast interview, that the Spice Girls are reuniting for the Queens Jubilee on July 4th. A possible Spice Girls reunion has been anticipated in the media for quite some time, with rumours about the girls performing at the Olympics but have been denied by both Mel B and Mel C. The group also sees their Musical ‘Viva Forever’ (written by Jennifer Saunders) being launched this year. An official announcement from the group itself has not yet been made.
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has teased the video for her upcoming track ‘Elephant’. Be prepared to see a sexy Alexandra busting out some great moves. The video footage can be seen here. Alexandra Burke’s ‘Elephant’ will be available to buy on March 12th. Other X Factor news for Marcus Collins, who’s had the radio premiere of his ‘Seven Nation Army’ today. The review can be found below. Less good news for Harry Styles of One Direction and Caroline Flack (Xtra Factor host) who have reportedly ended their relationship. The boys of One direction will be appearing into an episode of Miranda Cosgrove’s ‘Icarly’, which surely will make them a tad more popular to crack the American music industry. And last but not least, according to Cheryl Cole’s manager Will.I.AM, Cheryl will never return to the show, as she doesn’t need it apparently. Awww….
Last but not least Britney Spears and Shakira, are according to some close sources to Shakira’s management, preparing to duet. The duet should be released later during the year. Shakira has previously collaborated with Beyonce on ‘Beautiful Liar’. And since Britney has gone the dancey routine, we don’t mind a collaboration between these two in the same style.
