Who would have thought a few years ago, that one of the Busted boys would become one of the most multitalented acts in the British scene. Not only has he brilliantly made it from teenage popstar in Busted to the frontman of alternative rockband Fightstar, but now Charlie Simpson is impressing everybody with his indie solo-album ‘Young Pilgrim’.
”Down Down Down” and ”Parachutes” both saw the young soloist return to the top ten UK Charts. 3rd cut from the album ”Cemetery” didn’t chart in the official UK chart, but did reach a respectable number 32 in the UK Indie charts, probably due to the album release of ‘Young Pilgrim’ on 15th August 2011.
The 4th cut from the album, is the charming and sincere ‘Farmer & His Gun’ and again Charlie doesn’t dissapoint. It’s a very sincere, indie song drenched in emotions and the videoclip just adds a magical fairytale atmosphere to it. The song reminds very much to the likes of Jason Mraz and Bon Iver, which are both two fantastic performers who definately have inspired Charlie by the looks of it.
