Adam Lambert’s ‘never Close Our Eyes’ hits the UK

After a splendid live appearance on the Graham Norton Show, only a few weeks ago American singer song writer Adam Lambert, in a previous life runner up on the eight season of American Idol, is releasing his new single ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ today in the UK.

The track is the second single, taken from a new album, ‘Trespassing’ which follows one day later.  While many might remember the singer for his unique, flamboyant appearance, use of eye liner during the ‘For Your Entertainment’ era will now be impressed by a much more toned down image which allows Adam’s vocal range to take on full ownership. While the first single of the new era, ‘Better than I Know Myself’ didn’t exactly lit the charts on fire here in Europe, new single ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ has all the right ingredients to kick off expedition ‘Wow Europe’.

‘Never Close Our Eyes’ is a fluent radio pop song, which allows Adam to showcase his full vocal talents. And boy can he sing! We can only recommend you to look for his live rendition a few weeks ago on the Graham Norton Show which absolutely amazing.

For the dance lovers out there, ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ has also been given an almighty mix which is on Youtube and gives Adam’s vocals an extra nice punch. Watch the original video and the remix below.

‘Never Close Our Eyes’ is out now, the new album by Adam Lambert ‘Trespassing’ will be out on July 9.

Eurovision Song Contest Final

The 57th Eurovision Song Contest is coming to a close tonight. The contest, which is held in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan after the duo Ell & Niki won the contest last year in Dusseldorf, will choose its winner among the 26 countries in the final. 42 countries initially signed up for Europe’s annual contest which has an audience of 120 million viewers worldwide. 36 of them took part in the two semi finals held on Tuesday and Thursday, and 20 of them qualified to take part in the grand final tonight where they will be meeting the six automatically qualified entries of host country Azerbijan, Germany, Spain,  France, United Kingdom and Italy.

But who will win this year’s Eurovision? Will it be the huge favourite Sweden with Loreen? Or will the Russian grannies grab the victory from her? Or will Engelbert Humperdinck, the UK hopefully bring the competition home? Or the Italian lady? It will be a very interesting show with lots of variety, that’s for sure. All 42 countries who took part in this years contest will be voting tonight and decide their winner. The results, a mix of jury votes and televoting, will be announced during the show. If you haven’t quite made up your mind. Underneath is a recap of all 26 songs in the final.

For UK viewers, the Eurovision Song Contest can be followed LIVE from BBC 1 at 8pm and is provided with commentary by Graham Norton.

One to Watch: Sinead O’Connor – The Wolf is Getting Married

Ireland’s finest singer Sinead O’Connor is about to release her long awaited ninth studio album this Monday, and what a better way than have a look first at the leading single ‘The Wolf is Getting Married’ before the album review later on this week.

Despite all the gossip about her wedding and other private matters it’s been remarkably quiet arround the Irish superstar who rose to fame in the 8oies. But she is back, and are we glad she is giving it another go to teach them youngsters how to make some good music.

The track, which has been chosen to preceed the new album ‘How About I Be Me (And You Be You)’, ‘The Wolf is Getting Married’ combines the raw vocals of Sinead with a solid pop rock sound. The great asset of Sinead O’Connor’s repertoire is not only her vocals but her lyrics, which fit her so well. Her songs are heavily influenced by issues in the world and her personal life and ‘The Wolf is Getting Married’ is no exception. It’s been a very long time since we heard Sinead tracks, apart from Nothing Compares 2 You, on the radio so we are crossing our fingers for lots and lots of radio airplay and hope it all builds up to one heck of a comeback for the inspiring artist.

She blew our socks off with her performance of the song on the Graham Norton Show last week which you can watch here, but now the official video for the song is out as well. And video-wise it’s again very creatively done, without having to exaggerate. Something some of the popstars we know these days could learn from, no offence to them.

”The Wolf is Getting Married” is out now on i-Tunes. The new album ”How About I Be Me (And You Be You)” sees its international release on March 5.
