Kick off the weekend with Playmen ft Helena Paparizou, Courtney & Riskykidd

Two of our readers, have been so kind to tell us about an absolute party stomper to kick off our weekend so credit where its due, and a big thank you , Elias and Samuel for bringing ‘ All The time’ by Playmen ft Helena Paparizou, Courtney & Risky Kidd to our attention.

The track, which has been out in Greece since the beginning of July is yet another smash hit for the Greek dj duo Pavlos Manolis and Lefteris Xenakis. Since 2009, the guys have been fusing house with all kinds of music styles, teaming up with leading Greek pop singers like Tamta, Demy Helena Paparizou, and global artists like T-Pain making them one of the most anticipated Greek duo in the dance world. And looks like they are on their way to crack the rest of the world as well with their single ‘Fallin” ft Demy being number 1 in Russia.

For ‘Party all the time’ the guys have come up with a gigantic collaboration featuring the famous and immensely popular Greek singer Helena Paparizou, known for winning Eurovision for Greece in 2005, rapper Riskykidd and Courtney. The video stays very similar to their MAD VMA performance so it’s all looking slick and sexy.

‘All The Time’ sees Helena Paparizou continuing to contribute in the dance music scene and we have to say we do like her sassy side to it. Credit to the Playmen guys for the awesome production. This is FAB!

Good news for everybody, the track is available on iTunes and can be purchased now! So don’t hesitate and go and get it.

Only a few weeks ago, we presented the new summer single of Demy here on GloPop. Non-Greek fans of the lady will be pleased to find out that she has now unveiled the English version of her latest number 1 hit single ‘Poses Xiliades Kalokairia’ as ‘Love Light’.

The track, originally composed and produced by  Dimitris Kontopoulos and Nick Moraitis, two of the most distinguished authors in Greece,  has been given a slightly difference arrangement and slightly transformed now to a massive club track with the help of Maltese songwriter Gerard James Borg (not a stranger for the Eurovision fans). In our original post, we mentioned that many Greeks would love to see this beautiful young talended lady representing Greece at Eurovision in 2013. Is working with Gerard James Borg, a Eurovision song writer veteran, the first step into that direction? Who knows… Watch this space.

The Greek version, is currently a massive hit in her native country Greece, making it her fourth consecutive number 1 within a year. With the English version now released, releases abroad and an international career seem the next step forward.

No cheeky ‘Outside’ but Electro ‘White Lights’ George listen here

‘I’m Back, I’m Proud than ever’ … is how George Michael introduces his musical comeback after a few turbulent years in his private life. The singer who developed a severe case of pneumonia last year which not only left him fighting for his life and forced to suspend his tour is now back with his electro pop orientated track ‘White Lights’.

The track itself is a ‘ thank you to all the fans and people who have supported George the past few years’ and is full of referrals to the difficult times the singer has been through, but also to let us know he’s ‘alive’ and back on his feet. His website states the following:

“Most of my fans realise that I dreamed of a career as a singer-songwriter from an early age, but never in my wildest imaginings could I have known that I would still be here thirty years later, healthy, happy, and feeling that I still have so much more music to give.

George isn’t afraid to sing about his private life in his tracks, who can remember his cheeky super hit ‘Outside’ from 1998, which dealt with his arrest for soliciting a policeman in a public restroom.

Whilst cheeky ‘Outside’ Michael is still our favorite, we do have to confess that we also like the electro Pop Michael. New single ‘White Lights’ brings a new fresh light to the genre that Michael started to explore back in 2002 with his track ‘Freek!’

The new single, which is a celebration the 30th anniversary of his first single written with Andrew Ridgeley, as Wham!. is out on August 13 and can already be preordered.

Ilia Darlin’s ‘Even When I loose’ is ACE! Listen here to this extraordinary Greek talent

Greek born London based singer Ilia Darlin is already named the European answer to Lady GaGa after releasing upbeat electro pop tracks like ‘Hit Me’ and ‘Car Crash’.

The EMI signed singer is set to release her new track ‘Even when I  Loose ‘ later this month. The classically trained vocalist, who writes all her songs, showcases in her new single, a strong will power and determination over a mix of fluent electronic beats, giving it a funky and trendy edge. Ilia is a belter as and vocally she’s spot on ( Pay attention to that big note at the end of the song). Mark our words, this extraordinary Greek lady, is one to watch this year! ‘Even when I lose’ was written by Ilia Darlin, Billy Mann, & David Schuler.

The video which sees Ilia struggling with her own demons (yep!), was directed by John Mitropoulos.

The track is out now!

Greek Eurovision representative Eleftheria releases new single ‘Hearts Collide’

Eleftheria Eleftheriou, the 2012 Greek Eurovision Song representative, has a new single ready to share with her fans; ‘Hearts Collide’ got its air play on Greek radio yesterday.

The new track blends an accordion with the popular euro dance ingredients into a happy summery pop tune similar to the past hits we’ve encountered by the Romanian leading ladies Inna, Alexandra Stan and Elena Georghe.

‘Hearts Collide’ is the follow up single of ‘Aphrodisiac’, which represented Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan a few months ago. Despite finishing 9th in the final by televote, the Greek-Cypriotic singer finished 17th overall, after the juries marked her performance down 18th place in the jury final. It’s the first time since 2003 that Greece finishes outside the top ten.

Yet Eleftheria is about to experience a busy summer as she is currently embarking on her ‘Aphrodisiac’ Tour.
