Watch Here: Nelly Furtado Big Hoops (Bigger the Better) Video

Only a good week ago, Canadian superstar Nelly Furtado previewed the new track ‘Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)’ which should pave the return of the lady into the music industry.

The hip hop inspired track, which gets a dub step swing at the end, has now also seen the video release. Quite a funky video kicking off with Nelly gaining a lot of viewers in the streets as she’s walking around on stilts (Bigger the Better Of course). And bigger the better is a constant theme throughout the video with the superstar trying out big hair, big shades, big earrings,… you get the hint.

Do we like the song? In fact we do. On a first listen, while Furtado has a very unique voice, we couldn’t help but feel she’s gone a bit Nicki Minaj’ish in the song. And the video seems to be giving that impression too. Is it disturbing? God noFurtado’s been around the block for quite some time since the release of ‘I’m Like A Bird’ 12 years ago and has always come back with a reinvented style of music. Thumbs up girl!

Big Hoops was written by the famous Rodney Jenkins (Destiny’s Child, Jennifer Lopez) and is the lead track for new album ‘Spirit Indestructible’ which is out on June 19. A UK release for ‘Big Hoops (Bigger The Better)’ is expected on June 3rd via Itunes and available for pre-order.

Azealia Banks & Diplo team up

Back in February we introduced Azealia Banks in one of our ‘One To Watch’-chapters. The singer/songwriter, who was one of the top 10 of the BBC sound of 2012, has since been signed to a record company and released her first single ’212′.

The singer has now revealed a new track, which she did together with Diplo. Yep, the man is everywhere and currently claiming lots of recognition thanks to his collab on Usher’s ‘Climax’.In the past he’s also worked with Kelly Rowland, Nicola Roberts, etc…

‘Fuck Up the Fun’ leans very close to ’212′ music wise and we just absolutely love the cheekiness, swagger, fun & funkiness of Azealia. We are so excited to hear her album ‘ Broke with Expensive Taste”, which according to the singer is about a girl trying to find her way. The young star definetely has got loads of potential and knows how to warm up an audience to her music, as she has released several clips in the past months.Unfortunately for all those eager to get their hands on the album, we’ll have to wait until September.

Whether ”Fuck up the Fun” will make the cut to the album is not yet known. However the singer has released her EP ”212” which includes the sophomore debut track 212 and also previously previewed ”Liquorice”.

As for now here’s the new track. Enjoy!
