In all honesty, we weren’t too impressed with the song choices of ‘You Da One’ and ‘Talk That Talk’ as new singles from Rihanna’s latest album. The singer can consider herself to be back in our good books with the release of ‘Where Have you Been’.
The track, which was written by Ester Dean, Lukasz Gottwald, Calvin Harris, Henry Walter and Geoff Mack, whilst production of the song was completed by Harris, Cirkut and Dr. Luke is without a doubt one of the highlights from the singer’s latest album ‘Talk That Talk’ and has all the potential to be as big as ”We Found Love”, which was also produced by Calvin Harris.
”Where have you been” is very much the perfect mix between house, pop and dance music. It’s a very infectious track which catches your attention immediately and doesn’t leave your mind for a while. ‘You Da One’ and ‘Talk That Talk’ hardly had an impact on the charts, but ‘Where Have you Been’ is right up our street and we think it’s one of those tracks that definately has the potential to be one of the most popular tracks of 2012 included in the end of year charts.
The video, which was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Dave Myers, sees the singer in exotic clothing, an acting as a jungle princess. The video is also Rihanna’s debut as a choreographer.
the single has so far been released in the US and Germany, while the UK sees its official release on May 28 via Itunes, Amazon and any other record stores.
Enjoy the video.
