We’ve mentioned it before how we believe 2013 will be an extraordinary year for music. So it seems are wish has been granted because we’ve come across yet an amazing Australian band who’s doing pretty damn well at home soil.
Perth based band Tame Impala, lead by frontman Kevin Parker have been around for a good few years but it’s their latest album ‘Lonerism’ and single ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’ which not only makes them extremely popular but landed them a guest performance on Jools Holland at the end of November.
Described by themselves as as “a steady flowing psychedelic groove rock band that emphasizes dream-like melodies” their latest single has a similar feel to, dare we say it, the Beatles and Pink Floyd. Tough shoes to follow but Tame Impala are without a doubt a breath of fresh air in the current music climate. They’re unique rock sound, which in our opinion sounds a bit dreamy and nostalgic, is bound to get noticed pretty soon all over the world.
After the success of Australia’s Gotye, Tame Impala could be Australia’s next top music export product. Their latest single ‘Feels Like We Only Go backwards’ is out now on Itunes alongside their album ‘Lonerism’. Buy it through our GloPop Music Store.
