Baker If U Luve MeThere’s absolutely nothing wrong with fancying the pants of an artist who’s music is oh so fingerlickingly good. introducing Swedish singer songwriter Antonia Vai – Listen

AntoniaVaiNow we do like to introduce you to the alternative soul singer songwriter here on GloPop so we were absolutely delighted to find out more about this 24 year old supertalent from Sweden to all our readers:

Antonia Vai is a 24-year old singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Sweden who’s according to her biography is dynamically explosive one second, and the other emotionally stripped down thus excelling in combining metaphores and contradictions. Intrigued? Well you should be.

As a well-established artist on the music scene of Stockhom she’s also carrying the title of “bohemian soul diva”,though Antonia mentions herself she’s actually more  influenced by folk music. Her latest uploaded track on Youtube,’ You Know What I’m Like’ pretty much sums her up like that. You Know What I’m Like is the stripped back side of Vai  and we got incredibly excited about her.

2012 ‘s been a pretty busy year for her, as September marked the release of her debut album “Lovers and Prophets“, a tribute to forbidden love and sanctifications. Apart from the debut album, another record called “Dirt From When The Earth Was Flat’ was released which is an album consisting of gathered homemade productions.

Both albums are out on Itunes, so go and check them out if you can. Listen to ‘You Know What I’m Like’ below.

Watch the video for Ben Montague’s new single ‘Deep end’

Layout 1With ‘Love Like Stars’ we crowned Ben Montague as our new man crush and well Ben’s just reconfirmed that feeling with single number 3, taken from his debut album ‘Tales of Flying and Falling’.

” I’m calling out to the big man. Searching for a better plan. Cause i don’t want to walk alone no more” is how single number three, ‘Deep End’ sets the tone. Ben’s describing how he no longer wants to be allow in this beautiful piano ballad which sees him play the instrument in the sea for the video.

Highly tipped as one of Britain’s biggest singer songwriters for 2013, Ben will be releasing ‘Deep End’ on January 20, one day ahead of his debut album ‘Tales of Flying and Falling’.

The album which already spawns the singles ‘Love Like Stars’ and ‘Another Hard Fall’ has been written by Ben plus a host of notable contributors including Iain Archer (Snow Patrol), James Walsh (Starsailor) and Jim Duguid (Paulo Nutini) and was produced by David Eringa, who was involved with many of the classic Manic Street Preacher albums.

2012 has been a very succesful year for the singer, who’s appeared on the BBC breakfast show and had his previous single ‘Another Hard Fall’ featured in the Radio 2 A-playlist. With ‘Deep End’ Ben is making January 2013 already a lot more attractive.

A refreshing beautiful sound by Saint Saviour

English singer songwriter Becky Jones rose to fame as the front lady of popular dance band Groove Armada, but since this year she’s releasing magnificent music under her solo project Saint Saviour.

‘Tightrope’ is the second single to be taken from her in June released debut album ‘Union’. It’s a different side from the Groove Armada front lady and one where she showcases what a truly extraordinary talent she really is.’Tightrope’ is a hauntingly beautiful piano ballad, which captivates so much emotion and translates them beautifully in its lyrics. With a lot more album recording artists surfacing in the last part of 2012, the danger is there to come to the conclusion it’s all a bit ‘heard that before’, Saint Saviour is anything but ‘heard that before’. She’s refreshing and an artist which we hope we’ll hear a lot more off in the coming years. Check the video below:

The track is set to be released on November 5. In order to support both the track and the new album Saint Saviour kicks off her UK tour at the end of October. The cities where she halts can be seen below:

Katie Cole brings country rock pop to the UK. Watch here

Melbourne born Katie Cole has build quite a name for herself in the past few years. Having written songs for stars like Gloria Gaynor and touring her native Australia, Cole’s music was discovered on the web by Howard Willing (Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows, Sheryl Crow, OK Go) who desperately wanted to work with her. So now based in the United States, where she’s rather successful since the release of her country rock pop inspired EP ‘Lost inside a Moment’ it’s no wonder the UK was to follow sooner or later.

In fact her popularity in the UK is already increasing with two of her tracks, taken from the EP, being favourites in the BBC radio 2 playlist thus receive a fair amount on airplay. So all very good news, for the singer who’s currently gearing up to release her new single ‘I can’t Wait’ on October 15.

Described as ‘American Alt Country meets British pop with hints of Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty and a sniff of KT Tunstall’ this award winning singer songwriter is set to make a big impact in the UK scene. And we don’t mind if she does.

Tom Dice confirms ‘Drive Me To Paris’ as new single

Tom Dice, the Belgian representative in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, has since his appareance at the festival become a rather renown name in several European countries.  After scoring a huge hit in the German-speaking countries and his native Belgium with ‘Me and My Guitar’ in 2010, and the duet ‘Il Nous Faut’ with French singer Elisa Tovati (a smash hit in France last year) the singer’s been releasing his second album ‘Heart for Sale’ spanning 2 hit singles to date; ‘Utopia’ and ‘Out at Sea’.

While ‘Out at Sea’ is currently doing extremely well in the Belgian charts , Tom Dice has confirmed during the annual Summer hit event in Belgium this weekend, his new single. The next single is to be called ‘Drive Me To Paris’ and can be heard below. It’s turned out to be a mid tempo track, and one we actually like a lot as well.

An official date for the single is yet to be confirmed, same for the video, but good luck for those in the UK. The track ‘Drive Me To Paris’ is already available to buy on iTunes through the album ‘Heart for Sale’, which is great to buy as well.
