Music vs Music – Let the Battle of boybands begin: 1Direction vs The Wanted

Last week, our very first GloPop battle finished with a tight victory by Elena Paparizou. This week we are presenting you with another huge battle. Yes girls…this one is for you… it’s The Wanted versus One Direction.

Both UK bands have cracked the States since the beginning of the year and have caused a serious UK boyband storm globally. Now they are going head to head in our second GloPop Battle.

How does it work? We take the most recent single of both bands and put them against each other. You decide the winner. The polls are open for 7 days and will close next Tuesday at 12.00 pm CET.

It’s been another busy day in the world of pop music. A quick overview of the latest events.

Nicki Minaj has returned to Twitter. The singer had left the application after one of her fans kept leaking material from her latest album. The singer decided to get back on twitter, as her fans were missing her. The singer has also been teasing the video for ‘Starships’ by saying it might be too saucy for tv. Does that mean Nicki, there won’t be a video after all? To add up to the confusion the singer recently released a video for her catchy track ‘Beez in the Trap’ although it’s not confirmed whether its serviced as the next single from Pink Friday:Roman Reloaded.

Beyonce has been named the ‘most beautiful woman’ by the readers of People’s Magazine. The star’s beaten Sofia Vergara, Charlize Theron, Michelle William and royalty Duchess Kate Middleton in the. The singer responded with the following statement ””I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth. I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.” The singer released earlier this week ”End of Time” as the latest single from her debut album ”4”.

”Call My Name” singer Cheryl (yes that Cheryl) has spend the morning at BBC Radio 1 to do some promo for her latest single, which was produced by Calvin Harris. The track was originally presented to new kid on the block Rita Ora, but was refused by the team. Cheryl teased a reunion with Girls Aloud, as it’s been three years since they were together and also teased throughout the day a short 30 sec clip of her video.

Alexandra Burke on the other hand has officially unveilled the video for her video ‘Let it Go’ which sees the singer partying on the London Underground. Partying is also what the Wanted are doing in the video for their Example-written new single ‘Chasing The Sun’. The video was filmed in Los Angeles and can also be found on our blog.

More X Factor participant news as Paije Richardson is the latest X Factor contestant to preview his first attempt to win over the British public. The 2010 X factor participant, who lost out on Cher Lloyd, has been raising money to record his first album via fan contributions on the Pledge Music website. The first single to be released is ”Bang Bang” and it’s absolutely amazing. (Learn and Watch Marcus!). Listen to the track below. Last week Aiden Grimshaw, fellow X Factor contestant also released his first single ‘Is This Love’.

Since Monday Steps are back with their Sky documentary which sees them prepare for their tour. Expect lots of Lisa crying (so we’ve been told). From what reunion to the other. The Beach boys are back with a new song called ‘Thats Why God Made the Radio’ it’s the lead for the band’s new album which is out in June. The band are currently touring arround the US which sees them play 37 dates.

And last but not least, Usher has teased his fans with the successor of his hit ”Climax”. The snippet below belongs to the next single ”Scream” which is also from the singers 7th album ”Looking for myself” out on June 11th. The singer will release the full version tomorrow in the United States. David Guetta also confirmed today to have collaborated once again with the singer, and teased the tune is absolutely crazy.

The Wanted Chasing The Sun Video

Only a few weeks ago we teased you with the audio track for the new Wanted single ”Chasing the sun”. The guys are doing extremely well in the United States, and have chosen the new track as the lead for their upcoming EP.

The track, written by Example, saw its video premiere this morning, and we like it very much: What to expect, great groupshots from the guys in black suits on top of a building, looking very Twilight’ish (What’s That all about!!!) and a storyline which sees the guys partying with beautiful sun-tattoo girls who all have a sun-tattoo. The video gets all  mysterious when all the guys end up with the same tattoo after their ‘love interests’ have touched them.

So what does it mean? Are they part of a secret clan now? You will have to find out in the video!

Chasing The Sun’ is available to download in the US now and will be released in the UK on May 20.

The Wanted debute new single ”Chasing the Sun”

The Wanted have debuted their new single ”Chasing the sun” this morning.

The new single will be released as their latest chart invasion for the US, April 17th. Fans in the UK, will have to wait a little bit longer as the song will be available from May 20 onwards. The single is to be believed to be the new cut from a repackaged edition of their second album ”Battleground”.

The new track is written by UK rapper and songwriter Example, and has its name written all over it really. Very much in line of their hit ”Glad You Came”, which was one of our favourites.
