The Chemical Brothers unveil Olympic track ‘Velodrome’

With 1 day to go before the Olympic Games officially kick off in London, the songs which will be used during the official events are being unveiled. The Chemical Brothers are the latest group in line to unveil their newly produced track ‘Velodrome’ as one of the five official London 2012 event tracks.

The new recorded track will be served as the official soundtrack to any of the Olympics Track Cycling events in the velodrome in the upcoming weeks.

The band are said to have been inspired by Kraftwerk, the German influential 7oies electronic music project, who released a new track this year for the Tour de France. The Chemical Brothers are said to be ‘honoured to create the theme for the Velodrome and we’re really excited to hear it in situ’ (source Digitalspy.co.uk)

The track is available for pre-order and will be released on July 30.

The Chemical Brothers are the latest group to join the line up of Muse, Elton John vs Pnau, Dizzee Rascal & Delphic as official London 2012 theme tracks.

No Doubt ”Push and Shove” Preview

The fans of No Doubt and front lady Gwen Stefani, have been treated to a first preview of a new track ”Push and Shove”.

The band confirmed a few months ago they’d been heading back into the studio to make a new album. The album, which currently hasn’t been given a name yet, is set to be released on September 25 and marks the first new album of the band in 11 years.

The band earlier on teased they would reveal a series of web videos during the build up to the album launch in September. In the first episode, which aired today we see the band members talk about being back in the studio together and most importantly Gwen laying down the vocals for the new track ‘Push And Shove’.

Judging on what we heard so far it’s very Ska inspired, with a touch of Jamaican reminding us a bit of the recent ’212′ track by Azaelia Banks and ‘Shady Love’ by the sissor Sisters. The track ”Push and Shove” is produced by Major Lazer and is a collaboration with Jamaican artist Busy Signal., and according to the band the only collaboration at the moment. Lots of rythm going on.  We can’t wait to hear more.
