Peaches and Cream: New Single for The Risk

Peaches & Cream- Single Art cover The Risk

2011 X Factor contestants The Risk, have unveiled the lyric video for their second single, called ‘Peaches and Cream’. Odd combination if you ask us, peaches and cream, but hey who are we, we’re only Belgian. (Odd Food combinations ain’t really our thing anyway…. (Mushy peas, chips and cod.. really?).

No other food combinations mentioned though in the lyrics; ‘Gettin’ Freaky in my Bentley Limousine, It’s Even Better when it’s with Ice Cream’ pretty much says which direction this is going right? Should make up for a rather steamy video if you ask me. (hint hint).

‘Peaches and Cream’, a remix of the 112 & P.Diddy hit is set for a release date on August 18. It succeeds the groups debut single ‘Missiles’ which was released earlier in the year.

Diana Vickers goes ‘Cinderella’ in video for new single.

DV CINDERELLAWith a lead single entitled as ‘Cinderella’ we were kinda expecting Diana Vickers to come up with a modern twist to the fairytale as the storyboard for her video.

And guess what she totally nailed it. I guess, yes she was a bit limited in terms of the theme, but the singer has given the story a modern twist. No step mother and step sisters in sight, but a more self assured Cindy at the ball, kicking some ass with the prince, who turns out look a little geeky, rather than the hunky kind of guys, we tend to see in videos. (We can only applaud you for that, Diana!)

Talking about the track itself Vickers explains, “Cinderella is about being in love and not caring about any of the material things in life, just wanting to be with that one person you adore. It’s about being prepared to lose anything and take every chance to be with them”

‘Cinderella’ is the first new single and predecessor of a second album, (we’re seeing rumours it’s to be called ‘Music that makes the Boys Cry’ for the young singer, which is expected for release later in the year (autumn). The singer rose to fame in 2008 after appearing on the X Factor. Since she’s performed on the West End, has been involved in fashion and released in 2010 her debut album ‘Songs from the Cherry Tree, which showcased what an amazing talent she has for songwriting and crafting pop tunes.

Cinderella is no exception to that rule! The track is out July 21 through So Recordings.

London Grammar gear up for ‘Metal & Dust’ EP release

London GrammarWe really have a soft spot for this London based trio. When we heard their track ‘Hey Now’ just over two months ago, we fell in love with them completely.

The prospect of London Grammar then releasing their EP on Monday February 25 is yet another exciting release on our schedule. The EP which is called ‘Metal & Dust’ will feature ‘Hey Now’ and brand new track ‘Metal & Dust’ which you can find below.

Once again the production and the silky vocals are making London Grammar a superexciting band for this year. We can’t wait to hear more from this trio!

Listen to ‘Metal & Dust’ below:

Now that’s what we call talent; Kymberley Kennedy’s ‘What the Funk’ Mixtape

kennedyBeing an all round entertainer means writing your own music, mixing it and just be simply incredible. We get the impression that too many artists label themselves too quickly take credit for all these the qualities above and fail miserably in being current and fresh;

But not this lady: UK based Kimberley Kennedy does it all. She’s a singer songwriter, producer and mixer producing some pretty nifty stuff. First introduced to the public last year via ‘The Kym Possible’ mixtape, it was not long before she was receiving rave reviews online and significant radio support (Trevor Nelson, Shawn Campbell to name a few).

And looks like she’s set to do it all over again with the brand new mixtape ‘What The Funk’ which is totally sublime if you ask us. It’s a mixture of amazing vocals, great beats, dubstep, all mixed brilliant with some pure classics. You name it and its there! Make sure you listen to it below and grab it for free, while you can.

And there’s more to come; Details of a forthcoming EP and live dates are coming soon. We are excited!

London Grammar’s single ‘Hey Now’ gets the Dot Major Remix

London GrammarAnd it’s pretty damn good.

The original indie track is being transformed in a massive club track which makes your head spin. The perfect remix for a night out we say.

We can not tell you how excited we are to see this London based trio release Hey Now, in the near future. We’ll keep you posted!

The Risk launch their ‘Missiles’ right to your heart this weekend

The_Risk_by_Christian_Lawson-3Remember The Risk? The four lads, who were initially put together by Tulisa during the X Factor 2011 are gearing up to release their debut single ‘Missiles’ this weekend.

Written with The Risk & Dantae, and the production is the hands of Pete ‘Boxsta’ Martin (who’s worked with Jessie J and Alexandra Burke) ‘Missiles’ is described as a tentalizing, urban-fused pop track.

The band who are known for their tight vocals during the live shows at the X Factor stage, deliver a decent, not to underestimate debut single. Agreed, it does need a few listens before we’re fully wild about it, but we had the same thing with Britney & Will.iam (and see where they ended up). We’re looking forward to hearing what 2013 has in stall for these guys.

‘Missiles’ by The Risk is out on Sunday January 27. Watch the video below:
