There’s absolutely nothing wrong with fancying the pants of an artist who’s music is oh so fingerlickingly good. We’re talking about the amazing Baker of course. born in New York, but relocated to Los Angeles the young singer songwriter has been making the nice weather states wise, with some amazing pop/dance songs. His latest offering is ‘If U Luv Me’ for which he recently aired the video.
All pumped up with a blue ipod-boombox Baker is all good to go for what we hope is a hugely successful year in the States and on this side of the pond. Lyric-wise and production wise it’s all sounding brilliant. With a hint of Frank Vincent we’re already huge fans!
We’re waiting for a confirmation on when the song will be available but wouldn’t deny you the fact of checking out Baker’s ‘If U Luv Me’. 2013 is getting pretty awesome!
Now just before the christmas holidays we were contacted by this very lovely lady, Vieem who we believe is more than worth a listen.
Born as Vanna Mattheus, Vieem grew up in Brooklyn, New York it was quite clear that she had a passion for music. With the help of idols Cyndi Lauper and Belinda Carlisle, Vieem took singing lessons, appeared in talent shows, even went through the girl band phase and grew into the amazing singer she’s showcasing on her latest track ‘Be It Hated’.
‘Be it Hated’ is taken from her debut similar titled album, and is a great pop rock track. Nothing beats a bit of good old pop rock so we’re pretty pleased Vieem is bringing it back with such power and passion. With a track record of such amazing pop tunes it’s only a matter of time for this talented young lady to become massively big!
Tori Amos, is one of the most versatile alternative singer songwriters since more than a decade. She proves once again to be worthy of that title with her new compilation album ‘Gold Dust’.
Don’t be mistaken by the word ‘compilation’ album. ‘Gold Dust’ is more than just a compiled album of Tori Amos biggest hits. No the singer has selected 14 tracks from her huge music catalog which have been highlights in her career and have a very emotional meaning to her. That alone makes it a very versatile playlists of more known and unknown tracks by the North Carolina raised singer songwriter.
On top of that, each track has been rerecorded in a classical arrangement with the renowned Metropole Orchestra, a collaboration which kicked off in 2010 after Amos was phoned to perform with them live. The result is a completely different arrangement for the 14 tracks, making ‘Gold Dust’ an hour of romantic, unforgettable Amos gems. Jumping out immediately are ‘Yes Anastacia’ , ‘Jackie’s Strength’ and ‘Precious Things’, the latter which has been given a haunting arrangement, with a piano and string violins as central instruments. Absolutely astonishing! The classical arrangement hasn’t just been friendly to the 14 tracks but the crisp vocals of Tori are top notch. She’s the centre of attention and her voice proves once again that she can do anything musically. If you haven’t checked out her previous classical album ‘Night Of Hunters’, then ‘Gold Dust’ is the best first introduction to Amos new style. You’ll want more.
‘Gold Dust’, the new Tori Amos album is out now.

The American pop band, Maroon 5, fronted by The Voice mentor Adam Levine have confirmed ‘Daylight’ as the third single from their number 2 album ”Overexposed”.
The pop track succeeds previous hit singles ‘Moves Like Jagger’ and ‘Payphone’, both spending several weeks in the top ten of the charts. Even though there’s no date on when the track is going to be released, the guys have asked their fans for help on their website, stating they want to hear their stories. One story will be picked and function as the story line for the video, which will be directed by Jonas Akerlund.
It will be interesting to see whether ‘Daylight’ can continue to keep up with the success the band has had the last year. The chorus does have stadium feel to it, with several ‘Oh Oh’s included, giving it the overall impression it could have been written for that other American band .Fun. Luckily Levine’s voice gives it the instant Maroon 5 feel, but one can’t overlook the similarities.
It’s hard to imagine it’s been over two years since American songstress Christina Aguilera released her album ‘Bionic’. ‘Bionic’ showed a new side of X-Tina and while we really thought it was full of potential hits, the project was quickly abandoned and described by the press as too ‘GaGa’.
Since the singer’s been acting alongside Cher (not really a success), and a coach on the American version of ‘The Voice’ (lots of success) so it was only a small matter of Christina returning to the music industry shortly. And are we glad she’s back! Her brand new single ‘My Body’ is an infectious upbeat dance track, accompanied by a big fat bass and drum & bass elements. It’s delicious!
The brains behind the track are none other Tiffany Amber, Savan Kotecha, Max Martin and Shellback, who wrote the track. Max Martin has been responsible for the production. ‘My Body’ is released Monday September 17 in the US and the lead single taken from her upcoming album ‘Lotus’.
Even though No Doubt’s lead single for new album ‘Push and Shove’ is yet to be officially released, the recently reunited American Ska/Rockers of No Doubt have unveiled what’s to be their second single.
‘Push and Shove’ shares the title of their new album, and will succeed ‘Settle Down’ as second single. The enjoyable uptempo track, contains dub step parts, produced by Diplo, received its first radio play on Ryan Seacrest KIIS fm show today.
‘Push and Shove’ the new album is out on September 24, preceded by the single ‘Settle Down’ on September 17.
