Amelia Lily’s Video is n.i.c.e!

September 2nd, that’s the big day for Amelia Lily, as it’s the official release date for her debut single ‘You Bring Me Joy’.

So nothing’s stopping the bronze medalist of the X Factor 2011 (do forgive us for the Olympic touch ) to release a rather summery video clip for the track which seems to be a mixture of the short storyline of Britney Spears flopped ‘Crossroads’ film (at least the road trip bit) and the One Direction ‘beach and sunset afterparty’ bit of ‘What Makes You Beautiful’.

Don’t get us wrong, it does suit the Xenomania track rather well, although we had our hopes set on a slightly different kind of feeling for the video but there are hotties involved, Amelia got rid of the pieces of pink in her hair (pfjew) and actually the video shows what a regular 16 year old is up to in the summer holidays (having water gun fights, and stuff) so double yay for Amelia!

‘You Bring Me Joy’ is the lead single of Amelia’s yet to be named debut album, which is out later in the year. The singer confirmed that she’s still in touch with her X Factor mentor Kelly Rowland, but also confirmed that their highly anticipated duet will not feature on her album.

‘You Bring Me Joy’ first single of X Factor’s ‘Comeback Kid’ Amelia Lily

Tipped to win last year’s X Factor from the very first start, kicked out off the competition in week 1, returning a few weeks before the final… it’s been a rather interesting and turbulent X Factor year for Middlesbrough-born Amelia Lily, but the ‘Comeback Kid’ is set for big things.

Not only did the singer land a record deal with Xenomenia (Known for many of Girls Aloud tracks) and record a duet with former mentor Kelly Rowland to start with, but over the weekend details concerning Amelia Lily’s debut single were unveiled.

‘You Bring Me Joy’ is without a doubt a huge step away from the tracks Lily performed on the X Factor. No offense to Kelly, but she did try to transform Lily into a mini-Xtina, Kelly Carkson or Pink. Xenomenia in that sense have wiped that slate clean as ‘You Bring Me Joy’ has that typical sound, known in many of the Girls Aloud produced songs, and while it took us a few listens to decide whether we liked it or not, the track grows with each listen and gives the singer a nice pop edge to kickstart her career.

‘You Bring Me Joy’ will be released on August 26.
